THE FINE ARTS CENTER
South Carolina's First Public Arts High School
ABOUT THE FINE ARTS CENTER
Founded in 1974, the Fine Arts Center is South Carolina’s First Public High School for the visual, creative and performing arts. For almost half a century, the Fine Arts Center has been a premier institution offering pre-professional training by a faculty of teaching artists. Our award-winning arts programs garner local, regional, and national recognition, and our students often excel in competitions such as the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and YoungArts National Arts Competition. Graduating classes average over $10 million dollars in scholarship offers, many of which include admission to the nation’s top arts and academics colleges and universities. Additionally, the Fine Arts Center is an ABC Institute “Model School” and an Art Schools Network “Exemplary School”.
At the Fine Arts Center, we believe art is more than a skill. It is a way of life, a means to express, and a path to limitless possibilities for our students. We value teachability and tenacity over talent, and pride ourselves on providing a professional learning environment for our students. Accepted Greenville County School District students may attend the Fine Arts Center tuition free. Transportation from every high school in the district is provided to ensure students have a reliable ride to and from their classes.
